(Cherry Hill, NJ) – Congressman Donald Norcross is proud to announce he has been endorsed by the New Jersey Education Association.
“Education is the foundation to lifelong success. The educators who care for our children and prepare the next generation of leaders deserve our gratitude and respect. Whether it is the bus driver who safely gets our children to school, the teacher who spends time helping students before and after class, or the retiree who continues to mentor our youth, they are all our heroes and I will continue to fight for them," Norcross said. "I am proud to have the support of New Jersey's teachers and support professionals."
As a member of Congress, Donald Norcross has fought to make higher education affordable and ensure world class educational opportunities exist in South Jersey.
“It has never been more vital for public education and public school employees to have strong advocates holding public office. As NJEA continues to fight to preserve one of the most effective and efficient systems of public education in the nation, we need strong advocates such as Donald Norcross in Congress, " said NJEA President Wendell Steinhauer." He is fighting to ensure our teachers and students have newly constructed classrooms with the most up to date technology, that our teachers have access to in-classroom training, mentorship, collaboration, and other professional development opportunities, and that our teachers and children are not just judged by test scores but by their full merits and achievements"
The NJEA represents 200,000 educators, support professionals, retirees, and students throughout New Jersey and is an affiliate of the National Education Association, the nation's largest professional employee organization.
"Through his voting record, he has proven himself to be an exceptional advocate for NJEA members and the students we serve. He has made himself available to our members to discuss the issues that matter most to them. NJEA is proud to endorse him for re-election to the House of Representatives, representing District 1,” Steinhauer continued.
After receiving the endorsement of the NJEA, Congressman Norcross pledged to continue be an advocate for quality educational opportunities that will connect young minds with rewarding careers.
Last week Congressman Norcross was endorsed for re-election by the Sierra Club. He has also been endorsed by both the Sanders and Clinton campaigns in New Jersey, as well as the Democratic Parties of Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester Counties.
