LAUREL SPRINGS, N.J. – Under FEMA, Representative Donald Norcross announced a $126,667 assistance grant to firefighters for the Laurel Springs Fire Department.

The federal award will allow the department to buy nearly 20 new self-contained breathing apparatus. These will replace their older, outdated SCBA units with the new breathing equipment, which will provide better protection for the department’s volunteer firefighters.

This year alone, Norcross has successfully supported nearly $6 million in federal government grants for nine South Jersey fire departments.
