LETTER: Norcross has the experience

I’m a Logan resident and I support state Sen. Donald Norcross to be our next representative in Congress. Unlike his opponent, Norcross is a lifelong Democrat, a union leader and a person with a significant amount of legislative experience.

Many of Norcross’ bills have become law. One of my personal favorites is his bill modernizing the state’s craft beer industry laws. But one of his most important accomplishments was working in a bipartisan manner to get the Economic Opportunity Act signed into law.

Another major accomplishment for the senator was the New Jersey Medical and Health Science Education Restructuring Act, which is turning my alma mater, Rowan University, into a premier research institution.

Frank Minor is a fine person, but his tenure as mayor has been mired in mediocrity. It’s relatively easy to keep taxes stable when the township is home to one of the largest industrial parks in the world. It also doesn’t hurt to have a really good township administrator to handle day-to-day operations.

And while Logan Day is a fine event, it takes more than just a couple of events each year to bring about a sense of community between all of our residential and business communities.

We have enough mediocrity in Congress. We need a leader who knows how to get things done in a legislative body. Norcross is welcome in Logan any time he wants to meet my friends, family, neighbors and other supporters throughout the community.
